We have been monitoring the ongoing situation with Corona COVID-19 and we currently have no plans to close, however if that changes we will update you here.
Due to the recent Corona COVID-19 pandemic we are changing certain protocols in the clinic in order to safeguard the health of our staff, clients and patients while we still offer veterinary care. Value Veterinary Clinic will enforce the following safety precautions effective immediately:
If you are sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19 (including sneezing, coughing, fever or shivers) please do NOT come to the clinic. Instead, we ask you to call our office at 718-822-7387 between the hours of 9am-5pm so that we can assess your pets condition and advise you on what to do. If your pet needs to be seen in person, we ask that you have a healthy family member or friend bring your sick pet to the clinic.
At this current time, we are asking clients to remain outside or stay in your car with your pet when arriving at the clinic. Please call us at 718-822-7387 if you are checking-in for your appointment, picking up medication or food for your pet. A member of our team will be outside with you shortly to retrieve your pet to bring inside for the examination. If you are a new client please complete the new client registration form, which you can download and print from the 'New Patient Center' menu under online forms, and bring it along with you to your appointment.
If your pet is not having a medical emergency but you have questions regarding your pet’s health you may call us and we can triage your pet over the phone to determine if your pet will need to be seen right away. If you have financial concerns please contact the ASPCA at 212-876-770 extension 4490 for assistance.
If your pet is having a medical emergency after hours please go to your nearest 24hr Emergency Hospital such as:

- If your pet is taking longterm medication please check if you are running low and ensure that you have enough. We suggest having a two week supply of medication on hand in case your unable to make it into the clinic. We have not currently had any issues with our suppliers, however due to the corona virus pandemic this can change at any time.
- If your pet is on a prescription diet and you order food from us please ensure you order accordingly and do not leave your order to the last minute as it can take up-to one week to receive your order from the time you have placed it with us. If your pet is on Purina Pro Plan prescription diet and you do not want to come to our clinic to pick up the food, you can order directly from Purina Pro Plan Vet Direct and they will ship the food to you directly at your doorstep. Don't forget to list our clinic ID: XL1X6 in your order so that it reaches us for approval.
- We suggest creating an emergency plan for your pet should you become suddenly ill.
Identify a trusted relative, friend, or sitter who will help care for your pet if you become ill and cannot care for your pet for a period of time.
Make sure your pet is microchipped and wearing up-to-date identification tag.
Create a list of the medications your pet takes, including dosages and administration instructions.
If you do contract COVID-19:
Restrict contact with your pet, just as you would other people.
Avoid direct contact with pets, including petting, snuggling, being kissed or licked, and sharing food.
Avoid sneezing or coughing on or near your pet.
If you must care for your pet while you are sick, wash your hands before and after you interact and wear a face mask.
